Solid stuff. I thought some of the transitions from different poses were a bit rough around the edges, but it's no biggie. I think the way you did the sound effects added a nice bit of comic relief to the animation as well. It has an amateur-ish flair to it, in a good way, reminds me of a lot of the older stuff you'd find on this site 10 years ago or so. Very oldschool Eddsworld sort of a vibe going on, but it's more centred around the action of the characters as opposed to bouncing humour off of them.

Loads of potential and a great piece, can't wait to see more from you dude

ToastieTV responds:

Thank you so much! it really means a lot to be compared to something like Eddsworld and the Old Newgrounds as they're what inspired me to start animating in the first place! I plan to keep improving and make better and better stuff!
Hope you'll stick around for more! :D

Good stuff man! I loved how many unique effects and concepts there were in this fight. There wasn't much predictability to it which had me eager to see what would happen next, and although the setting is a little bit bland the animation is short and sweet enough to not be stale.

One of my only gripes is how when the stick figures are charging or growing all movement stops, you should try and figure out a couple of ways to make the power transformations a little more seamless because the lack of movement in such an action-packed animation feels like a large pot hole on a road.

Still really neat job though man

IncSaimon responds:

Thank you! I will try to use your advise in the future animations.

Loved the kind of surrealist nature of the whole thing, with the animation and the artwork. The animation in particular reminded me of how cartoon characters in the 1920s would've acted, make a single movement and then stopping for a bit before making another one. Overall, really neat little short in an unsettlingly great way!

dimrmn responds:

thank you soo much! I really do wanted to try something close to 1920s toons!
Nice observation!!

Congrats on getting fifth place on the jam dude! Also, such a heartwarming tale... Reminds me of something Trash Toons would make

snailpirate responds:

Thanks man, and I fucking love TrashToons. Their stuff is hilarious.

Love how the light of the fire shows on the characters, excellent eye for detail. Really neat stuff. Only annoying part was the subtitles and the sounds for the talking, but I guess that's more of a personal preference.

cecameron responds:

Thanks so much!! Audio is still something I'm getting used to. I'll keep working on it!

Cool for an hour animation, doesnt really have any other vaule besides that. :/

I like it tho, the water droplet is pretty mesmerising, I'd love toy see something sprout from this mate

Simrick responds:

Thanks and yes it is kind of boring, I don't plan doing anything with this but I do plan on using what I've learnt from this and make something better in the future :)

Animation is pretty good, kinda weird at parts, main fall down is the writing though. You should definitely have other people look through your scripts before you make 'em into a full animation, because it's really hurting the general flow of everything.

Ant0on responds:

Cool, thanks for the feedback, but I wouldnt be taking someone seriously when what they say doesnt match with what they can actually do https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/710299

Great stuff, I'll just start with the criticism first to get it outta the way. Firstly, I noticed that the character's expressions could've been a little more emotive, and a lot of the line art of the characters were very rigid, take for example the part where the boy points the gun at the other guy, the barrel of the gun is more of a hexagonal shape than a circular shape.

Overall it's pretty decently animated, sound effects are pretty solid in the whole thing, just in general a really nice smooth animation.

l-ALONE-l responds:

Thank you very much, I will keep it in mind to improve in future animations
Greetings :D

Yeah you're right, sound quality is definitely a lot better in these more recent animations. Yeah man, followed you and all that jazz, hope to see more from you!

RyzoJ89 responds:

Thanks man, Ive stopped rendering the video with the audio in it, i add that in later, using different software, i feel it sounds far cleaner than previous videos. The syncing is off by a milisecond using this software though, need to fix that lol
